The spokesman for the Afghan Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid, stated on Tuesday that Islamabad should stop making "provocative and unfounded" remarks if it wants to maintain "positive ties" with Pakistan and all of its neighbours.

  •  The National Security Committee (NSC) reiterated its intention to crush terrorist organisations operating inside the country with full force and categorically urged Afghanistan's Taliban rulers on Monday to deny safe haven to Pakistani terrorist groups on its soil and end their patronage, without specifically naming them.
  • The conclusion of the NSC conference, which lasted two days, was announced in an unusually harsh statement that declared: "Pakistan's security is uncompromisable and the entire writ of the state would be maintained on every inch of the (sic) Pakistan's territory."
  • Despite the Taliban's promise in the Doha Agreement, Afghanistan's land was still being utilised against Pakistan, according to Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.
  • Asif had stated, "It is the duty of the Afghan interim administration to prevent terrorists from causing havoc." The minister also disagreed with the Afghan defence ministry's assertion that the TTP, a proscribed terrorist organisation, did not operate in Afghanistan.
  • Additionally, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah stated that Pakistan may attack TTP terrorists in Afghanistan if Kabul authorities do not take any action against them in a TV interview over the weekend.
  • Mujahid claimed in a statement issued today that recent remarks made by Pakistani leaders were "very unfortunate."
  • He said that Kabul was serious about preventing Pakistan or any other nation from using Afghanistan's land against them, saying "The Islamic Emirate is trying its utmost to achieve that."
  • The Taliban spokesperson further stated that Pakistani authorities must take action to maintain control of the situation and refrain from making "baseless and aggressive" comments.
  • "Peace and stability in Afghanistan are important to the Islamic Emirate. In a same vein, we seek peace and stability throughout the region and will keep working toward this end," the Taliban spokesperson stated.
  • Separately, Mujahid stated to BBC Pashto on Tuesday that Pakistan, not Afghanistan, was home to TTP commanders. "We do not provide refuge for TTP commanders, but they travel to Kabul to hold talks with delegations from Pakistan. For the negotiations, they will travel from Pakistan, according to Mujahid.
  • It is important to note that terrorist assaults have increased in Pakistan recently, and it is thought that the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commanders headquartered in Afghanistan planned and oversaw these operations.
  • Around 100 assaults were carried out by the TTP last year; the majority of them took place after August, when the group's peace negotiations with the Pakistani government started to sputter. The TTP shares ideological ties with the Afghan Taliban. The TTP publicly broke the ceasefire on November 28, 2022.
  • With terrorist organisations like TTP, the extremist Islamic State group, and Gul Bahadur Group carrying out assaults around the nation with almost complete impunity over the past few months, the situation for law and order in the nation has gotten worse.
  • Balochistan's insurgents have also intensified their violent operations and established an official connection with the TTP.
  • In addition to raising alarms in the corridors of power, the event at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police's Counter-Terrorism Department interrogation centre in Bannu and the attempted suicide bombing in Islamabad also caused concern in numerous other nations over the safety of their citizens.
